Josie was neglected then dumped
Josie is a 9.5 year British Bulldog. She is a sweet older lady who has suffered dreadful neglect over many years. Heartbreakingly, Josie's owner moved and left her behind, the local pound put Josie on their kill list if a rescue group didn’t take her within 7 days.
Mini's Bulldog Rescue Club saved Josie last week. We are so sad to see the poor state that she is in. The most upsetting part is that her health concerns are totally treatable. With medical support and a lot of TLC - Josie will get better, she deserves dignity, love and care in her twilight years.
With your support, MBRC will be there at every step of the way for Josie. It’s our promise.
"The rescue crisis in Australia is beyond words.
Dogs and cats are unnecessarily dying every day due to humans letting them down and breeding that exploded during COVID."
Dennie lived more than half his life in kennels
Dennie finally went to a foster home 3 weeks ago, but he has been unwell since. Anxious, off his food, vomiting, and losing weight rapidly - we were concerned Dennie had a life-threatening blockage.
SASH emergency looked after Dennie in the hospital for 5 days. A CT scan thankfully didn’t show a blockage, and Addison's Disease was ruled out through multiple blood tests. Dennie has been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Poor poor Dennie had bad regurgitation following the procedures, but he is back in his foster home now recovering.
There’s no quick fix for IBD so it is still a long road ahead for Dennie. We are starting to see small improvements so we're crossing everything this continues. Dennie needs daily medications, weekly B12 shots and a special diet which is incredibly expensive, especially being a large breed.
With your support, MBRC will be there every step of the way for Dennie. It’s our promise.
Poor Dre has a dreadful long-term skin infection, it is swollen and hot to touch. And he has a very restricted airway, and recently picked up kennel cough too.
Winnie was an emergency intake with a life-threatening pyometra infection at only 8 months old. Her owner had opted for euthanasia over treatement.
Pyometra can strike at any age for undesexed female dogs, Shelby was recently not herself and required emergency surgery at 10.5 years old.
